I'm so sorry Vamo but I do not want to fail again so rather safe then sorry plus money is very tight these days so I do not have cash to throw away.

Sorry about that CIP, get over your fear and rebook. I once chickened out as well and my learners expired but i want to get my licence by September.

CIP I really understand where you are coming from, I was suppossed to go for mine in January and I chickened out and didn't go...I booked another one for the 3rd of August, I'm still scared as hell, but I just told myself I'm gonna go there,cause really I'm struggling without a car...I have to get my DH to drive me everywhere I go and it's tiring at times...sometimes I do drive, but I'm not perfect...I'm still taking my lessons, and I've said some extra money just in case the inspector wants a bribe,you know how they are moss...but I really have to get mine this time cause I really am struggling.

For me my license is important because I am job hunting and in my field you do not get a job without a license. I know of municipal testing grounds around my area which are still booking for May so I still have a bit of time before my license expires in June. I prefer Municipal testing grounds because they are fairly new and are not into that whole bribing thing.

I do not have R1 500 to give to an inspector just so that he can give me something I know I deserve, besides I am a christian and I am scared God will send lightning from the sky to hit me if I were to bribe a cop.

So I will take my chances the honest way and believe that God is on my side and I will get my card before my learners expires in June.

CIP where are those municipal testing grounds cos I drive without a licence n dats so dangerous bt wht can a gal do. I'm bound by professional ethics so I dnt do bribes.

Stanger, Mandeni these are nearest to Durban where I stay. Yesterday Stanger was doing end of May and Mandeni was doing May 13.

CIP u mean I have 2 go n book there? Are u using driving school? Which one? I need 2 b there as in yesterday. I dnt want 2 drive without a licence anymore, cos cops are everywherre these days. Please send me all da details.

CIP why dont you book for May as well so that if things dont go well you can still have a chance again in June before your learners expires. That way at least you can have two chances to try. Shame gal I know how frustrating this licence thing is. The bribe is even worse i failed a couple of times in 2006 and also refused to bribe them. Eventually January 2007 i got it without them get a cent out of me.

I am going to book in May so that I have a bit of time, with testing grounds you can use your private car for a test but you can also use a driving school. currently I am using both driving school and hubby to perfect my yard test

Lange-I will check for you on the enatis database about Cape Town, but guys we really need these cards so lets do it before the year is over. This is our support group

My job also requires me to have a car, and it's a real struggle cause I am required to go to sites, but I cant do that because of the licence thingh

MamaL&B, where are you based do you at least have a learner's, the bribe will not work if you fail your yard test.

I know it won't work, I'm based in Pretoria, I do have my learner's and it's expiring in December...I took lessons last year, and I started again last month...I'm also driving my DH's car during weekends,so I think I'm fine with the driving now,I just need to be perfect. eish
